It is an entitled and disempowered approach to work and career.
Quiet quitting is the equivalent of staying in a bad marriage and pretending it doesn’t affect you.
Because it does!
Staying in a job that doesn’t excite you will destroy your creativity very, very quickly.
It will literally suck your soul.
Not being able to enjoy what you do is the quickest path to unhappiness and despair.
And doing the bare minimal and still wanting all the perks of the job is both sneaky and deceitful.
If your job does not meet your needs of money, purpose, meaning, belonging, growth or work-life balance this is what you need to be doing instead:
✅ Have a chat with your manager and ask for what you want. Give them a chance. Maybe they don’t know what you need. Let’s not assume our leaders are mind readers.
✅ IF nothing changes ask again. LOUDLY!
✅ If still nothing changes then QUIT. Leave. Find a job that you like. Find an organization that meets your needs.
Because there are no winners in quiet quitting.
It is a LOSE-LOSE for your organization and YOU.
And when you quit for real MAYBE you stand a chance to WIN!
