Team Coaching

Team Coaching

Team coaching  involves coaching a team of professionals  to accomplish a shared goal like starting a new company, working on a project or managing a business.

Team coaching unleashes the power of collective potential.

Team coaching helps the team see itself as a cohesive system and work for the team’s success. In team coaching team goals take precedence over individual goals. The goals themselves are created by focusing on the team’s purpose and the stakeholder needs of the present and the future.

Team coaching accomplishes two main tasks:

  1. Helps the team focus and create more value for its stakeholders.
  2. Build the team’s capacity for the present and future.

Team coaching is a slightly longer intervention than One-To-One Coaching or Group Coaching. This is because it involves the process of understanding the organisational context as well as the individual and team dynamics.

Team coaching addresses the following areas:

  • It helps the team get clarity on the team’s purpose as well as individual roles and responsibilities.
  • It creates a strong relationship with stakeholders by focussing the team’s efforts on stakeholder needs and outcomes.
  • Helping the team manage and mitigate conflicts that arise productively.
  • Helps confront team issues such as lack of accountability, performance quality, social loafing, groupthink, leadership challenges, etc.
  • Helping the team build processes and systems for efficiency.
  • Builds inclusiveness and synergy in the team.

Is this the same as team building? No its not! Here’s how
