Goals and action plans are a lot like road trips.
You have the end destination mapped out on your GPS.
BUT you can really only see the next 50 meters ahead of you.
You swerve, adjust your speed, and correct your course based on what shows up next.
And if you are driving in India you also probably need to be 100% focussed on the next speed bump, pothole, stray animal or someone driving the wrong way!! 😁
While holding your end destination in mind at all times.
This allows you to be present to what needs your attention NOW and be flexible to the changes you need to make to reach your destination.
Some mistakes we sometimes make with goals(and road trips):
> Getting too caught up with the details of every far away step. This serves no purpose other than overwhelming you.
> Getting disheartened because one part of the journey was messed up or hard. And forgetting that that is only one part of the journey. Not the entire trip.
> Getting too attached to one route and forgetting there are many ways to get to the same destinations.
Instead, focus on the current step. And keep checking how it serves your final destination.
